With the introduction of the first STI unit 25 years ago, BioSAFE pioneered waste treatment protocols now seen as best practice industry-wide.

All BioSAFE units employ integrated shedding and treatment. Waste shredding is safely carried out in closed system environments which results in confetti-like particles of ½” and smaller. Pre-shredded waste leads to more effective treatment, facilitates dehydration and reduces waste volume by 80%. Systems use steam penetration that begins immediately. All waste needles, or sharps, are chopped during shredding and rendered unusable.
